VoIP (or Voice over Internet Protocol) is a great new way to make and receive phone calls using your high speed Internet connection - instead of your standard phone line. Our system converts your phone calls into data that is sent through your high-speed Internet connection just like email.   In the end, VoIP works just like a regular phone call.

With ComCanada, you connect your telephone to your VoIP adapter (that we send you). Your VoIP adapter is connected to your high speed internet connection and activates your telephone link.  This allows you to simply pick up the phone and begin making and receiving calls like you always have. Please see the below diagram for a graphical display of the system:

The only thing you really need is high speed internet (either cable or DSL). Once you sign up with us we will provide you the VoIP adepter that best suit your needs.

Yes, in most of the cases you can keep your service and your phone number when you travel, domestically or abroad. Just plug your Broadband Voice Gateway into a High Speed Internet connection at your new location – and you are ready to go. All your calls will be treated the same way as if made at your home.
